To the City of Miami Public Records Custodian:


Pursuant to Article I, section 24 of the Florida Constitution, and chapter 119, F.S., I am request a copy of public records that detail any and all paid family or parental leave policies and practices of the municipality. I also request the agenda and minutes of any board, commission, budget, or other meeting within the last 36 months during which paid family or parental leave policies were discussed.  If the municipality does not have any paid family leave or paid parental leave, I request a statement to that effect.


I request a waiver of all fees for this request since the disclosure of the information I seek is not primarily in my commercial interest and is likely to contribute significantly to public understanding of the operations or activities of the government, making the disclosure a matter of public interest. Advocacy Partners Team is a nonprofit organization that aims to educate the public about women’s and worker rights issues. With this information, we will be able to describe the current status of paid parental/family leave policies in Miami-Dade County and its constituent municipalities and public entities.


Should you deny my request, or any part of the request, please state in writing the basis for the denial, including the exact statutory citation authorizing the denial as required by s. 119.07(1)(d), F.S.
